Join CommunityHealth as a Volunteer Optometrist

CommunityHealth provides primary and specialty care, medications, lab testing, mental health services, and health education, all at no charge to nearly 10,000 low-income, uninsured adults in Chicago, and we are seeking volunteer optometrists to join our team and improve patient access. Our optometry wait list is currently at 14 months!   As a volunteer optometrist, you commit to as little as one, four-hour clinic on a monthly basis, and provide critical services to the community. You will have access to a fully outfitted exam room to perform primary care ocular health exams, as well as ReSpectacle, a database of donated glasses used to provide free glasses to our patients - in some cases their first pair after years of dealing with limited vision.    CommunityHealth is located in the West Town neighborhood. Volunteer scheduling is flexible, and you will have the full support of a dedicated staff and volunteer Polish and Spanish interpreters, who uphold our commitment to language access.
