"Thyroid Eye Disease, Ocular Nutrition, and Ocular Biologics: What's the Difference and What's New"

This course unravels and illustrates the close association between the eye and thyroid dysfunction. Clinical features, laboratory testing, clinical examination, and therapeutic options will be reviewed. The ocular manifestations and management of this condition will be discussed. Nutrients play various roles in proper thyroid function and cellular sensitivity, these nutrients will be reviewed and discussed.
Oxidative stress and damage are the hallmarks of chronic disease which is easily identified with our current and new instruments and technologies. This course will introduce and review concepts of integrative and complementary medicine and provide clinicians with clinical pearls, diagnostic interpretation and approaches, present-day and recently approved nutraceutical and therapeutic opportunities, and guidance on becoming a great Integrative Optometrist.
Every year new biologics and biosimilars are approved for ocular diseases. This course will review recently approved biologics, biosimilars, and drugs indicated for ocular treatment.

Testing & CE Certificates:
Tests will be emailed out to attendees in the week after the course. Attendees will be given a name badge at registration. This will be used to scan attendees in and out throughout the day and must be worn at all times. CE certificates for regular hours will be emailed appx. 1 month after the course. Certificates for tested hours will be emailed by ICO appx. 1 month after the testing due date.

All registrations received after February 18 will be considered on-site and will incur a $25 on-site registration fee.
