We are seeking an associate Optometrist to join and grow with our team! The ideal candidate will be outgoing, confident, and a team player. Our office is committed to providing the highest quality of eye care to every single patient, every time. We work as a team to provide exceptional patient care experience. Responsibilities The optometrist will see both routine and medical patients. We have state of the art equipment, including optos, optovue OCT, visual field, topographer, digital refracting system, IPL and bipolar radio frequency for dry eye treatment.. Our office uses Revolution EHR. We utilize technicians for pretesting and assistance to the doctor as needed.
The Optometrist will be expected to: Have a valid IL optometry license Perform comprehensive eye exams-routine and medical Perform urgent care exams Manage and treatment of ocular disease Provide contact lens evaluations Build strong doctor-patient relationships Create treatment plans for myopia management (training can be provided) Utilize Intense Pulse Light (IPL) and Bipolar radio frequency dry eye treatment (training can be provided) Occasionally (approx 2x/year) provide on call coverage
Hours & Availability 30-40 hours of patient care a week 2 Saturdays a month (9am-2pm) would be required

The Optometrists of the North Shore is a well-established, private practice with 2 locations in the northern suburbs of Chicago, IL. We relocated our Northbrook office after 40 years to a larger, upscale 3600 sq ft building and are looking for a part-time associate to join our team. Ideal availability would be 2-3 days per week on Wednesdays (9am-5pm), Thursdays (3pm-7pm), and/or Fridays (9am-5pm). There will also be plenty of opportunities to fill-in on other days as needed. We currently have 4 full time OD’s and 14 qualified opticians between the two offices. The ideal candidate must be experienced and outgoing with a positive, friendly personality. Our office hours are Mon & Thurs 9-7pm, Tues 9-6pm, Wed & Fri 9-5pm, and Saturdays 8-2pm. Our new office has 3 exam lanes and 2 pretest lanes equipped with brand new state of the art equipment which allows us to practice optometry to the highest level. We have used Compulink EHR since 2012 and utilize Nidek retinal cameras, Optovue IVue OCT, Zeiss Humphrey VF analyzer, Topcon slit-lamps with digital cameras, auto refractor/keratometer, Icare tonometers, and digital acuity charts. The opticians perform all the pre-tests so our optometrists can focus on performing thorough ocular health exams. We provide full scope optometry including detection and management of eye diseases (ARMD, glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes), diabetic retinopathy and plaquenil screenings, emergent care, contact lens fittings, and surgical co-management.
We offer a very competitive hourly wage and will cover malpractice ins premiums, AOA dues, licensing renewal dues, and a stipend for continuing education.
